Misr lel-Makkasa Sporting Club (Arabic: نادي مصر للمقاصة الرياضي), commonly known as Makkassa, is an Egyptian sports club based in Faiyum, Egypt. The club is related to Misr lel-Makkasa Company (Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry).
Misr lel-Makkasa is mainly known for its professional football team, which currently plays in the Egyptian Second Division, the second highest league in the Egyptian football league system.
The club was formerly known as Hweidi Club and El-Fara'na before the current name was adopted.
History
Football record
After few attempts, Misr eventually gained promotion to the Egyptian Premier League from the Second Division in 2009–10 for the first time in its history. It earned promotion after a 2–0 win against Wadi El Gedid FC at home ground. Misr Lel Makasa came top on its group ahead of Telephonaat Bani Suweif FC. El Mekkasa finished 2016–17 Egyptian Premier League in the second position to be the second time for the team to finish in the top four and first time to qualify to the CAF Champions League.
Misr Lel Makasa has a passionate fan base and is known for their attacking style of play. The team has had success in domestic competitions, including winning the Egyptian Cup in 2003. They have also competed in international tournaments, representing Egypt with pride.
The team has produced talented players who have gone on to play for the Egyptian national team and in top leagues around the world. Misr Lel Makasa continues to be a competitive force in Egyptian football, striving for success and glory on the pitch.
