Rajshahi Royals (Varendri/Bengali: রাজশাহী রয়্যালস) were a Bangladeshi franchise Twenty20 cricket team. The team was based in Rajshahi in Bangladesh and competed in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a Twenty20 franchise cricket competition.

On 16 November 2019, Bengal Group was named as the sponsor of the team and it was renamed to Bengal Rajshahi Royals. The team was excluded from 2021–22 Bangladesh Premier League.

History

Duronto Rajshahi participated in the first two seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League in 2011/12 and 2012/13. Following the suspension of all BPL franchises after the second season of the league, the Rajshahi Kings were formed in advance of the 2016/17 Bangladesh Premier League following a complete change in the team ownership and management. They competed in the fourth edition of the BPL in late 2016, losing in the final to the Dhaka Dynamites. On 6 October 2016, Darren Sammy was announced the captain of the side.

Rajshahi Kings is a professional cricket team based in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. The team was founded in 2016 and has been a part of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) since then. The team is owned by the Mango Entertainment Limited and is coached by Lance Klusener, a former South African cricketer.

The team's home ground is the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi. The team's official colors are red and black, and their logo features a lion holding a cricket bat.

Rajshahi Kings has a strong squad of local and international players, including Mehidy Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Mohammad Nabi, and Liton Das. The team has a good mix of experienced players and young talent, making them a formidable force in the BPL.

The team has had a decent run in the BPL, reaching the playoffs in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. However, they have yet to win the championship. With a strong squad and a talented coach, Rajshahi Kings is poised to make a strong showing in the upcoming BPL season.
