The Frederick Keys are a minor league baseball team based in Frederick, Maryland. The team was founded in 1989 and has been a Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles since 1989. The team's name is a nod to Francis Scott Key, who wrote the lyrics to "The Star-Spangled Banner" while watching the bombardment of Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 in nearby Baltimore. The team's colors are navy blue, orange, and white. The Frederick Keys have won two Carolina League championships, in 1990 and 2005.
