Brisbane Roar Women Football Club, formerly known Queensland Roar Women, is an Australian professional women's soccer club based in Brisbane, Queensland (founded in 2008). The Roar competes in the country's premier women's soccer competition, the A-League Women.

History

Early years

Brisbane Roar (then Queensland Roar) were a founding member of the W-League in 2008. The team was initially coached by Welshman Jeff Hopkins, who had played his football career predominantly in England, as well as representing Wales at the international level. The playing roster featured a mix of youth and veterans, including founding captain and Matilda's stalwart, Kate McShea, and up-and-coming goalkeeper Casey Dumont.

The Brisbane Roar Women's soccer team is a professional women's soccer team based in Brisbane, Australia. They compete in the top tier of women's soccer in Australia, the W-League. The team was founded in 2008 and has since become one of the most successful women's soccer teams in the country.

The Brisbane Roar Women are known for their fast-paced and attacking style of play, as well as their strong team spirit and work ethic. They have a dedicated fan base that supports them at home games at Dolphin Stadium in Redcliffe, as well as when they travel to play against other teams in the league.

The team has won multiple championships and has produced several talented players who have gone on to represent the Australian national team. The Brisbane Roar Women are a force to be reckoned with in the W-League and continue to be a dominant presence in women's soccer in Australia.
